What Toor Knives' says:
Introducing the Toor Knives Egress, the ultimate tool for those who put everything on the line so that others may live! This knife was born out of a need for a reliable and versatile search and rescue blade. Our team drew on their extensive experience in the military with Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (SERE) school, as well as first responder career fields to create the perfect tool for the job.
Crafted with hard use in mind, the Egress features a CPM S35VN blade, which is an extremely durable and wear-resistant steel. This is vital for search and rescue, where the blade may need to be used for extended periods of time and in a variety of challenging conditions. CPM S35VN steel has excellent corrosion resistance, making it ideal for use in marine environments or other situations where the blade may be exposed to moisture. At a 0.25” thick, the blade is sturdy and robust enough to handle heavy-duty cutting and prying tasks, such as sawing or cutting with the SERE Hook, as well as breaking through tough materials in an emergency with a new, larger 0.25” diameter tungsten carbide Breacher Ball on the pommel.
What truly sets the Egress apart in an overly crowded marketplace, is its unparalleled durability and reliability. It has been designed and built to perform flawlessly in extreme and adverse conditions. If you're in the military, a first responder, a member of a SAR team, or simply someone who wants peace of mind in any situation, this the perfect blade choice.
Each Egress is proudly produced here in San Diego, CA by Toor's skilled and talented manufacturing team and includes a FlexTech KYDEX sheath. Sheath mounts are not included.
Quinn Knives' take:
It's no secret that we love knives built for a specific purpose, and the Toor Knives Egress is just that kind of knife. Constructed with SERE or SAR missions in mind, this knife reminds us of the venerable A-10 Warthog. It ain't no beauty, but 'bah gawd' it is one stout, and functionally formed, piece of work. And like the A-10, when it hits the fan, you'll be glad one of these is around.
