Recurve Camp Chopper
A camp chopper knife with a recurve blade shape is designed for maximum cutting efficiency and versatility in rugged outdoor environments. The inward curve of the recurve blade enhances slicing performance by creating a natural “sweet spot” that bites deeper with each swing. This shape also aids in controlled draw cuts and improves chopping power by focusing force toward the blade’s belly. Ideal for tasks like splitting kindling, clearing brush, and butchering game, the recurve camp chopper excels where strength and precision are both needed. Its aggressive profile and robust construction make it a reliable tool for campers, survivalists, and outdoor enthusiasts alike.

8670 High Carbon

8670 is a tough, high-carbon tool steel known for its excellent impact resistance and durability, making it ideal for hard-use knives. While it doesn't hold an edge as long as some modern stainless steels, it sharpens easily and performs reliably in demanding conditions. Popular among custom and bushcraft knife makers, 8670 is often praised for its resilience and workhorse qualities.

Maple Wood
A strong, durable hardwood prized for its fine, consistent grain and smooth finish, making it an excellent choice for knife handles. It offers a comfortable grip and can be beautifully enhanced through staining or stabilizing, showcasing both functionality and aesthetic appeal. Maple is a popular choice among craftsmen for its balance of toughness, elegance, and affordability.

Quinn Knives' take:

This is a one big, beautiful, burly knife that looks not only rustic, due to the forged blade, but carries a lot of style with it because of the rich green maple handle and mosaic pins. A real workhorse blade that you'll want to show off as much as you'll want to put it to use. See out 60-second overview video below.
